Formula One Testing 2023, What have we Learned?

Three days of Formula One Testing in Bahrain has now come to an end for all ten teams. The team that came out on top and were consistent with their timings was of course Oracle Red Bull Racing and in my opinion testing gives a good gauge as to who might be in with a chance at winning this years championship and lifting the trophy. If you follow Ted’s Notebook and have watched all three episodes on the Sky Sports YouTube Channel it gives a good idea of what happened during the three day formula one 2023 testing and the lowdown on all of the teams cars. (I’ll leave them linked below).

Overall I think it was a great pre-season testing and I am glad that it was televised as I thoroughly enjoyed watching it albeit dipping in and out of it at any chance I got.

I cannot wait for Formula One to be back on our screens once again this year and with new faces and new cars joining the fun, it’s guaranteed to be great both on and off track.

While the true balance of power on the grid this year is yet to become truly apparent, some conclusions are beginning to form. Pre-season testing last week gave fans and pundits alike the opportunity to form opinions about which teams might be competitive in 2023.

“Our reference point is the Bahrain test and it did look as if it was Red Bull out front, Ferrari gamely chasing them and then Mercedes scratching their heads, not quite sure where they were at – a few issues, but not too far behind. So a bit like last year. They’ve got a bit of work to do to match the relentless pace of the Red Bull.”
