Honda Teases 2023 HR-V for the US Market

Earlier this year, Honda revealed some sketches for the U.S.-market spec Honda HR-V. Now, it’s following up with a full-fledged… teaser.

The next generation subcompact crossover will carry a distinct design compared to its European counterpart which saw a refresh last year. At least, that’s what we gather from the image Honda put out today featuring one of its taillights.

Honda wouldn’t comment on what sets the Euro-spec HR-V apart from the U.S.-spec, but we do know that while the European spec is only fitted with a hybrid powertrain, the U.S. market is expected to feature pure internal-combustion powertrains.

Not much is known about the HR-V’s refresh, but it is expected to be a step up from the first generation model which has been on sale here in the states since 2015. Despite this, it’s been a popular car. The HR-V was the brand’s third most popular SUV, trailing the CR-V’s 360,000 units sold, with a healthy 137,000 units sold.

The 2023 HR-V will be revealed on April 4th.

Just can’t get excited about yet another CUV. My Mom has a CR-V and it’s a fine vehicle for what it is. Solid, as is typical of Honda. Glad she’s in it. Has all of the modern safety feature such as emergency braking and blind spot warnings. She swears by them. This should be nothing less than typical Honda quality. But another CUV? AWWW, COME ON!
