So Long, Stinger: Kia to bid Farewell to Stinger with Limited Tribute Edition
SEOUL, South Korea – It's of course no surprise that the sun was setting on the Kia Stinger's production, but the late-entrant to the enthusiast sports sedan community seems to be getting a farewell marked with fanfare. Kia Motors announced today that a limited production of 1,000 Tribute Edition models of the Kia Stinger will go on sale in 2023.
At the heart of the car is the same mechanical components you get in the GT2. The same 3.3-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine producing 368 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque via an 8-speed automatic. The Tribute Edition Stinger features cosmetic changes instead, with a limited selection of exterior colors, including the Moonscape Gray as displayed in the manufacturer provided photos in this post. Alternatively, it can be ordered in the GT2's Ascot Green. Additionally, the exterior trim, 19-inch bespoke wheels, and brake calipers get blacked out.
Meanwhile, the interior is refreshed with Terracotta Nappa leather upholstery that wraps the seats and door trim. The center console is imbued with a carbon fiber aesthetic. A wasp-shaped emblem to stamp the headrests and the production number on the driver's door sill plate will also be present.
Only 400 of these Tribute Edition Stingers are bound for the United States. Pricing has not yet been announced, but is expected to start at somewhat of a jump over the GT2's $51,790 price tag.
