2023 Honda Accord Gets Pricier, but More Efficient

11th Gen Honda Accord continues to impress

Honda’s 2023 Accord has been announced with new pricing and fuel economy numbers following its debut at the L.A. Auto Show.

While the base LX trim remains in the lineup, the pricing for the Accord has gone up, starting at $28,390, just south of $800 over the previous year. It comes equipped standard with a CVT and a 192-hp turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine available, which only marginally affect its fuel economy. A dip of just 1 mpg combined the Accord now offers a fuel economy of 29 mpg city, 37 mpg highway, and 32 mpg combined.

The hybrid version, however, has been upgraded and is more fuel-efficient than before, with a starting price of $32,990 for the Sport trim. It is a significant price jump over last year’s base hybrid, which is now discontinued, but compared to the 2022 Sport trim, the updated Accord costs an extra $825. The hybrid clocks in at 204-horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is standard for the Sport, EX-L, Sport-L and Touring.

Fuel economy improvements are noticeable across the lineup, with the EX-L trim now offering 51 mpg city, 44 mpg highway, and 48 mpg combined. The other hybrid trims are estimated to deliver 46 mpg city, 41 mpg highway, and 44 mpg combined.

The LX comes equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.2-inch instrument display, LED headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The EX adds heated front seats, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an upgraded sound system.

The Sport trim offers a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and 19-inch wheels.

The EX-L has leather seats and parking sensors but drops down to 17-inch wheels.

The Sport-L trim has a power memory driver seat, power-adjustable passenger seat, and styling updates.

The Touring trim is packed with features such as heated and ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, built-in Google apps, Bose sound system, head-up display, and wireless phone charging.

The 2023 Honda Accord will be available for purchase at dealerships this month. Despite the slight increase in pricing, the Accord continues to be a popular choice for drivers seeking a fuel-efficient and reliable vehicle.
