Do you have to justify the cars you love?

This is the article that set me off, the first article I posted online, and therefore will be the first article I post on here.

The cars you love are personal to you, they may be the worst in the world to somebody else, but they mean the world to you. One of my favourite cars for an inexplicable reason is the Honda e, so I’m going to explain my rationale for loving it.

I love cars but like most people who love cars some vehicles are just special – they might not be to everyone else, but they are special to me – and one of those ‘special’ cars is the Honda e.

It isn’t the most powerful car, it doesn’t have the longest range, nor does it have a mind-bendingly quick 0-62 time, but I love it.

It is cute to look at, neatly proportioned, over-engineered and just makes you smile. It has double wishbone suspension and six screens – neither of which it actually needs. But they are part of the reason that it is such a fabulous car. It doesn’t have wing mirrors but cameras: which display the side view on two screens. Should you be particularly bored the Honda e can turn it screens into a virtual aquarium. It even has a 3-pin plug socket and HDMI port so you can plug in a games console (or streaming device if – like me – you aren’t a gamer).

You may think that being crammed full of gadgets like it is the e would be the forefront of technical advancement – but it isn’t. The Honda e claims to do a WLTP 136 miles on a single charge whereas rivals like the Vauxhall Corsa-e will do 211 miles on a charge. The Honda e reminds me of a Disney character – Baymax from Big Hero 6. Like Baymax the Honda is cute, overloaded with gadgets but not particularly useful.

I admire the Honda e and hope to see one in the flesh but would never want to own one. It is too expensive (£26,160 after the generous government grant) and doesn’t have enough range to be a good real-world proposition. However, despite its shortcomings the Honda e is still a very, very special car.

So that’s my reasoning for loving the Honda e. Do you love it too? Or is there another (seemingly normal) car that has a special place in your heart?

Despite its price, I honestly get the appeal. It’s such a fun-loving looking car, just meant to be enjoyed in its sheer cuteness!

The range and the price mean I wouldn’t buy one but I do love the looks and interior

For a modern car it looks pretty good. I can see why people are attracted to it. Personally, I’d prefer if there was a petrol engine option but I know this car was meant to be electric from the beginning. That price quoted is about $43,000 CDN though, which is ridiculously expensive.

I love the Honda e. If I had to choose one car that I can’t justify why I love, but do it would be the Huracan STO. I feel I should hate it, but I just can’t

As someone who loves mostly all cars, I do however have some that I truly hate, but I always tell people I know what a good car is when I see it it, however, doesn’t have to be what you say is good or what I say is good! I always tell people if you love your car I will love it with you even if I don’t like it!! Great article by the way

I love your car if you love your car that’s what I always tell people! But I do have cars that I absolutely hate and I’ve always caught hell for it and I’ll never change my mind!! Example the Smokey and the bandit car I’ll never like a trans am ever ever for personal reasons has nothing to do with the car!!
