Lotus Emira 420 Sport - Less weight and more power
Lotus have launched a new version of the Emira, called the 420 Sport.
Using horsepower as a name is a move Lotus has used before with the Evora, so it’s no surprise that the 420 makes 420ps, using the 4-cylinder AMG unit. This gives it 15 more hp than the Turbo SE, the previous most-powerful 4-cylinder Emira. It also gets the lightweight handling pack as standard, bringing the weight down by 25kg. All of this means the 420 can get to 60 in 3.9 seconds.
Lotus have also made many revisions in the name of cooling, tweaking the lower air vents and adding some on the front wings, all in the name of better track day performance. Lotus also wanted to catch more air for the cabin, too, and now offers all trims of the Emira with a removable hard top.
Pricing starts at £105,900, £16,000 more than the turbo SE and will be available in August of this year.
